Used Canon 600mm F4 ll I recently purchased a used Canon 600mm Prime Lens and have been shooting with it for 2 weeks. The build and image quality are amazing and I love the Lens, but just a cautionary note! This thing is HUGE, especially with the sun hood, and it is HEAVY! I am a big strong guy but it gets really hard to hand hold after an hour of crawling through mud to get close to shorebirds! A tripod would probably help but just isn’t my style, I creep and crawl using all available cover and terrain. So in summary, a wonderful Lens but not for the feeble or faint-hearted!

Best Lens I've Ever Used I've used many Canon lenses in my life. This is truly the best lens, Canon or not, that I've ever used in my life. The IQ is excellent when the lens is used by itself or with a 1.4x or 2x Canon Tele-converter. The colors that are rendered digitally are amazing. You'll read that you can't hand hold this 13lb lens but I disagree. I have taken some amazing photos hand holding this lens. Why buy a car when you can buy a lens for the same price.

Awsome I love the images I am able to capture with it - great clarity and sharpness, responsive focus, and permits me the working distance to keep animals at ease yet put me in their domain. I can't wait to use this in my floating photography blind to capture duck and other waterfowl and wading bird images.
