Leica Summarit-M 50mm f/2.5

A Hidden Leica Gem I bought the Leica Summarit-M 50mm f2.5 Lens to compliment my Leica Summarit-M 35mm f2.5 lens and both make up the lens portion of my Leica M9 kit. The Summarit-M series is among the most affordable Leica made lenses. The f2.5 version was replaced a few years ago with a f2.4 version and now both are discontinued. so you will only find used copies. While cheap by Leica prices, these lenses are far from cheap. While slightly slower than the f2.0 Summicrons they have the same Leica high quality optics and build quality. Besides the slightly slower speed, the biggest difference is the lens barrel is aluminum instead of brass and you get a soft pouch instead of a leather lens bag, plus a cost savings of several thousand dollars. summarit 50mm ..No question..Great lens..Price?? Good for "Leica" prices maybe..But still ,little pricey ..
