Nikon Fisheye Nikkor 16mm f/2.8 Ai-S

Nikon 16mm f/2.8 AIS Fisheye lens This is the best fish eye lens Nikon made. It has a full frame view not a circle like other lenses I tried. It has the amazing ability to take very sharp pictures with perfect contrast and depth of field. The focus is manually operated and as smooth as glass making it very easy to use. This lens is tiny compared with other lenses it weight is less than a pound, making it perfect combination for all day use carrying your camera. I've used this lens for extremely wide view applications such as entire families being photographed in one picture. I like to use this lens when I go to car shows to take pictures of car interiors. If you like to do special effects and like to experiment, you need this lens. This lens is also used for wide view landscape photography. It has to be my most versatile lens in my collection and it is always in my camera bag everywhere I go. Price for a used unit that has the four bayonet filters in the Nikon filter pouch is about $500.00 - $600.00. A novel lens, but one you will love! Always in my kit, the tiny 16mm f/2.8 fisheye is a handier and more useful lens than you might expect. For many outdoor scenes its nearly 180 degree view provides a panoramic sweep of the scene, and the distortion may be almost unnoticed if you are careful about how you frame the shot. This lens has a character of its own, with rectilinear distortion typical of fisheye-type designs, although this one fills a full 35mm frame. For digital cameras with their half-frame sensors, this may be a practical alternative to more expensive designs for special uses. This is a lens you really need to experience--certainly some love it, some hate it, but its optical performance is excellent. I have been using mine with the full-frame Kodak 14n digital and am very satisfied with its performance.

Great deal on a genuine Nikon lens. What a great lens. it has been in production in it's current form since the mid 90's. my guess is that there has never been anything that needed to be changed about this lens. i've used it quite a bit now and it takes excellent photos. I have another fisheye that i use on my APS-C style cameras that is of a newer style, but this one works at least as well. Great deal on a used lens that never came out of the box.
