Excellent Lens, I bought this lens as a replacement to the kit lens that came with our Camera (Cannon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II). This is not only a great replacement but an incredible upgrade as well! The price point on this lens makes it very affordable. I researched quite a bit for a daily walk around lens and kept circling back to this lens. Highly recommend this lens from the novice all the way up to professional level.

Best value in its range Not much to choose in this range for a Sony A mout camera . The two Sony types are expensive and one has mechanical problems so I am happy with this one. I have another Tamron SP (200-500mm) that also works well.

As Good As Any, Unless Money is No Object I wanted to buy a Zeiss lens of equivalent specs, because I was impressed with the sharp focus and color, but after studying on the internet, I decided that this Tamron lens at about half the price is only slightly less in the quality. My testing of the lens against other sharp Sony and Minolta prime lenses, non-Zeiss, on my 24 mp DSLR. shows that it is almost as good, or equivalent, and easier than carrying around three or four prime lenses.
