Aetna-Rokunar 70-210mm f/4.0-5.6 Auto Macro MC

Great zoom at a great price This lens gives great overall performance, is built solidly, has a metal mount (very important for the abuse my cameras go through), and focuses fast, even for a non-D model. Images are sharp and contrasty throughout the focal range on my D700, and image acuity does not lag too far behind much more expensive models like the 70-200 f/2.8. It would take a pixel peeper to tell the difference. If you are on a budget and need a great full frame zoom at a fraction of the price of the big boys, give this lens a look.

Very nice Lens Smooth manual focussing ,solid construction and optically excellent at all focal lengths, even wide open. AF is quite good except for near to far as the model i received was the AF rather than AF-D as advertised. I've kept it as the AF has better manual focus. Really good results with my D300.

Old but Gold I think I read all the reviews on the internet before buying this lens. I don't have pro glass to compare it to, but for my semi-pro purposes it works well. Images are sharp through the zoom range under good light. Zoomed out hand-held in dim light or indoors is iffy. Construction seems pretty solid. Very affordable. A cheap lens is no good if it sucks, but the price/performance ratio of this lens is actually pretty sweet.
