Shoot for the stars!! This lens is still my top choice for a standard wide angle lens for astrophotography. It has very low levels of aberration, a versatile field of view, excellent sharpness at large apertures, and good overall build quality for the price point. It’s capable of making some of the cleanest wide field landscape astrophotos without the use of any kind of special equipment like a tracking mount.
