    Amazing VR and versatility5.0/5

Amazing VR and versatility I had a Sigma APO 70-300 which was amazing, every time I used it. After roughly 17 years in my bag and or closet ( I live in Florida) I noticed that it had considerable fungus/haze visible on the rear inside element. I am a true Nikon lover and bought the Sigma because at the time I purchased it, Nikons only offering in this range was rated optically inferior. Since then, Nikon updated its 70-300 three times, I think, but the price has increased substantially with each offering. The latest version is around $800. Since this focal length range is not one I use often, I started pricing new sigma APO's which are still an amazing bargain. Then I thought to look on Ebay for a used nikkor and found an excellent deal on this modern VR lens. Retailing for $500, I obtained a used, excellent copy for just over $220 and could not be happier. this lens has VRII and makes an amazing difference when shooting hand held, as I almost never use a tripod. The Sigmas have no VR. Both lenses are great, but the VR is awesome! Read full review

    Great telephoto zoom5.0/5

Great telephoto zoom This lens is great. The focus is quick. For how long the lens is it's pretty light weight. It's great for photographing surfers.
