Surprising $100 Gem of a Lens Olympus 9mm f/8 BCL (Body Cap Lens) Review: Lens construction is 5 elements in 4 groups, and with a fixed, perfectly circular f/8 aperture disc, it creates attractive defocussed backgrounds when used to capture very close subjects. Plastic lens body. Very good working into bright light. Some vignetting adds to its classic lens type, rendering habit. For Olympus cameras with in body image stabilization, be sure to manually set the IS focal length to 9mm for best results. Both hand held and tripod based high resolution modes are confirmed to work very well with this lens, as tested on an Olympus E-M1X. This means very good output, even at ISO's up to 6400, made possible by the Olympus's HH-HR 16 shot in cam interpolation process. Three position focus lever also has 4th position to close a protective shutter when lens is out of use. Lever is easily bumped out of position and should be checked often, however. Of possible interest to some, this lens works quite well with common 10mm and 16mm macro extension tubes, providing excellent magnification and good center sharpness. Also an interesting consideration for vlogging in good light, it's exceptionally light weight and wide field could be decisive assets for some users. Disappointed No better quality than the less expensive 15mm which performed well enough. The extra expense does not give one better performance I'd say it is inferior. On 5 different Oly's all the same outcome. Still, I won't resell it. I still, like it. Just disappointed , and cant see others saying this is better than the 15mm Version which to me is far more useful for a quick all purpose shot.

Most compact lens ever I love how thin is the lens. Coupled with my BMPCC, they almost fit in my pocket. And it's a great solution for the big crop factor of my camera. You can fix a little bit of the distortion in post. It's not that sharp and it has a fixed aperture but I really love it for a daily use.
