Great lens for the money on an OM-1 The Olympus 300 F4 is a great lens for its size. It small, light weight, sharp and easy to travel with. It’s also well made.

Stunning Performance This lens on one of Olympus’ flagship m4/3 bodies is a total marvel. Shooting handheld at 600mm in 35mm equivalence is quite feasible, due to the combination of in-body and in-lens image stabilization. While the lens in heavy, it is not in the least bit impossible to carry and operate. While I haven’t compared it to the P-L 100-400, the quality difference between this lens and the less-expensive Olympus 75-300, is quite pronounced, and the price difference is fully justified. This is the best long telephoto available for m4/3.
