Olympus ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 14-150mm f/4.0-5.6 MICRO

Very Good and Versatile This lens is good, but not as good as I had expected. I compared it with my Zuiko 70-300 Four Thirds lens using a MFT adapter. Shooting several exposures using a tripod and the same camera body, I compared shots from both lenses using various focal lengths that both lenses have in common - i.e. between 70 mm and 150 mm. Same shooting conditions (f-stop, ISO and shutter speed). The 70-300 lens easily produced the sharper images. But let's not forget one thing - the 14-150 has a greater than 10x optical zoom factor - pretty amazing actually. Meanwhile the 70-300 has a factor of just over 4x. That is a huge difference and considering that fact, the 14-150 is quite an accomplishment. Understandable that there would be some sacrifice in IQ given the advantage of a great range of focal length, size, and light weight. This could be the only lens you would need for many shooting situations. Great for traveling too. I'll certainly keep my 70-300, but not for hiking or traveling - it is just too big and heavy for that.Read full review

Sharper than expected for its magificent zoom range I compared this lens to my kit 14-42 and the 40-150. This particular copy of the 14-150 was at LEAST as sharp as the others at most focal lengths and apertures. I am overjoyed with this purchase. Now I just have a Lumix 12-32 and this Oly 14-150 for a do-it-all travel kit.

Good but not perfect Overall its a nice lens. Smooth operations even for video recording. My only complain is images get a little too soft toward the end of the focal range. I would say the softness is especially noticable past 100mm. Its still nice to have the whole range from 14-150mm in a single lens.
