Love this lens It may not be the newest version of macro lens, but it is an outstanding lens just the same. It is one that seems to be dead accurate mounted on the D5500, without the need to re adjust focus for lens/camera. I used a focus chart to determine front/back focus for this lens, and I may have been very lucky in this respect as it is spot on. Auto focus also works very well, but the lens barrel will extent when focusing, whereas the newer version will not due to internal focusing. It is a minor inconvenience, and easily overlooked when rewarded with excellent results. The manual focus of this lens, with a very long throw, is much appreciated, as it allows for easy accurate focusing of the shot. Many lenses are good but suffer from a very short throw, that makes accurate focusing difficult to use (an example is the 18-270mm lens from this manufacturer). Read full review
