And great all purpose wide angle lens I recently photographed a rock concert and used this little guy almost exclusively. It's perfect for indoor photography and let's you get in close and still see everyone on stage. Very little distortion and good optics. The only downside is the aperture only goes up to 4, which was a bit of a pain in the dimly lit stage I was shooting. Though, my Nikon D7000 handles high ISOs fairly well so I was still able to get my shutter up to about 1/200s with an ISO of 6400
What a deal. Five stars: It arrived on time, properly packaged, which prevents possible quality issues. The item is indistinguishable from brand new except for the packaging. Sharp as a tack for my commercial needs, real estate, medium range APS-C. I also have a Tokina 11-16 which is why I chose the 12-28 for just a slightly narrower field of view with less edge fall off.
Great value for mid range zoom Sharp images quick focusing (although noisy) the HSM feature would be advantageous for most uses other than landscapes. Heavy and clunky but I think I could drop if off my roof and it would still function. Several reviews indicated zoom creep when pointing down. I've not had an issue with this. As with my other Sigma zooms, great blend of quality and value
