Voigtlander Nokton 42.5mm f/0.95

Robust and High Quality. For portrait, it may be the best for micro 4/3 by manual focus ! Beautiful photos particular for in-door & low light condition. Shorter focal distance and wider aperture allows more possibilities which no other lens can match. However, in terms of value for money, it is hard to beat my Panasonic 20mm f1.7 pancake or Olympus 60mm f2.8 macro for general use. No doubt, weight is a concern as it is difficult to get a good balance on my light-weight Olympus PL-7. May be I still need to learn more how to get the best out of this lens. Above all, Volgtlander is a classic of its own - you either love it or hate it. Hope this review of use to you !

High-quality, very-fast lens for M43 I bought my 42.5 on a lark, locally, while seriously considering the 10.5mm version. This one optically is very good starting about F1.4, by F2 is very good, and by F4 is excellent. Very sharp, little or no CA, little corner darkening, and even little distortion. Color balance is slightly warm and VERY attractive. On my Oly EM1.2, it's quite easy to focus even without magnification, and the in-body IS works finely on the 'All Direction Shake' setting. (On that setting, one gets to set manually the lens length, because when a 'dumb' lens such as this V'lander is mounted, the camera doesn't know that ANY lens is mounted.) If you're looking for a very fast 85-equivalent for your M43 camera, this is IT! The 1st two images below were shot at F4; the 3rd at F0.95 for very shallow DOF.

Great lens with dreamy softness This lens is the gold standard in m4/3 portraits. It is sharp from f2.0 on and has the ability to be usable at 0.95 as well. It pairs perfectly with my 25mm 0.95 Voigtlander and I finally have the a full kit.
