Beautiful If you are going to pay for a top shelf zoom lens, this is the range to splurge on. I tried for weeks to find cheaper options, but ultimately decided that this was going to be the workhorse on my A99. The build quality and image quality have been impressive and as-advertised. The sturdy metal hood is a nice touch. Some reported that the lens is excessively heavy, but it seems very manageable to me on my A99, and I hike with it. One small knock would be the lack of a zoom lock. The lens often extends completely while I hike around with it at my side. I also wish it was environmentally sealed. However, those are small issues. You should bite the bullet and buy this lens if you have a professional Sony body to match. I also splurged on the Sony 75-400G for about the same price this last year. For image quality and usability, this lens has been a much better value. I am a non-traditional professional photographer, primarily taking habitat monitoring photos while hiking or flying for my wildlife consulting business.Read full review
