Bright lens thanks to the high aperture value Has 6 aperture blades, this number of blades are commonly used. Having rounded blades provides out of focus circle shape closer to a circle.Physical characteristics
Weights 190 grams so convinient to carry. With a lens filter diameter of 46 mm you are one step from the next standard filter size, buy step-up ring and bigger filter but you can chose from plenty options. 45 mm long, this small lens should be always in the camera bag.MC Zenitar 50mm f/2 purchase historyStable

Super The FE 50 1.8 gets a lot of flack for poor focus speed but really it's not bad. I actually like, no, prefer the way it focuses for video, it's very sure but not overly quick, kind of like Canon dpaf. It works great on both the a6000 and a7. Some CA wide open but that is to be expected for a fast prime with no special glass elements but easily correctable in post. It is a modern prime that has an old school look in the photos, reminds me of the minoltas I shoot, it has character. I like it and it is always on a camera ready for action.
good value for 50 mm f1.8. I used this lens to shoot at SFO bay bridge. its ok but not the sharpest. I used it with Sony A7ii on a tripod taking the bay bridge and part of the city. Not happy on the result.... I did another shot of the new Bay Bridge using again the 50 mm and the Nikon 85 mm w/ adapter on A7ii to have a comparison. the 50 mm is not sharp as Nikon 85 mm. Focusing a little slow too... I'll give a try again some other day and I"ll post an update. thanks
Nice PRime lens. It's cheap, produce nice deep of field, at f4 it's pretty sharp. I used it all the time it's my favorite lens, cons: a little noisy focus motor, not very fast auto focus, some color aberrations very little, some light flares. But even so 5 star non of them dealer breakers. It is also very light. Don't miss this offer open box with Best Buy 169.99
