Zeiss Batis Distagon 25mm f/2

Beautiful lens Have only had this lens for a short time, but I'm impressed! Very sharp, and really nice bokeh. It's a little bigger, heavier, and pricier than I would like, but totally worth it for the image quality it produces. I use this on an A7II. Have read complaints about the lens hood being plastic, but that is a non issue for me, it's well made and does the job. I ignore the info window on top, also the subject of much discussion online. Would definitely recommend this lens to anyone looking for a quality wide angle.

Great picture and build quality I was contemplating a quality prime wide-angle lens for creative work. The choice was between the Sony 28mm f/2.0 and the Batis 25mm f/2.0. The proven quality of Zeiss lens design and coatings justified the extra expense. I very often use the 35mm f/2.8 Zeiss lens and a focal length of 25mm is ideal. So far I am impressed with build quality, operation, sharpness and contrast. Definitely a keeper for the long-haul.

Excellent lens! I had the Zeiss Batis 25mm in the past, I replaced it by a Sony 24mm 1.4 GM. And I missed the Zeiss rendering, so I bought the Batis again :) The Sony GM is sharper and has better handling with all the functions on the barrel. But when I looked at my past pictures created with the Zeiss Batis, I found them better in colour. It's like they have a character and a contrast that no other lens can achieve. So for me, sharpness and smooth bokeh is not everything. The feeling in the picture is. The Zeiss pop I guess :)
